Halloween Games

If you are planning to host a Halloween party, then there a few interesting and exciting games which can be played. You might choose to play Apple Bobbing or the Snap Apple game, however, if you are looking for something with a little difference or some additional games then here are few suggestions.

Guess the body part
This is a group game which involves using your imagination to guess the various body parts that are passed around.

You will need:

  • A balloon filled with warm water - Stomach
  • A cauliflower - brain
  • Two grapes - eyes
  • Two dried apricots - ears
  • A small, wet, sponge - tongue
  • Cocktail sausages - fingers
  • A scrap of thin leather - skin
  • Old dried apple - heart

How to play

    1. All players sit in a circle either around a table or on the floor and each player are then blindfolded
    1. You will also sit in the circle but will not be blindfolded, and inform the players that you will be passing round a selection of body parts from a dead person, and they need to guess at what parts they are.
    1. Select a body part from your box and start to pass it around so that each player can feel it. When the part gets back to you ask the group to identify what part was.
    1. Continue to pass around body parts and see which ones they guess correctly

Find the worms
This game can be quite messy, but very good fun for both adults and children

You will need

  • Whipped cream
  • Gummy worms
  • Number of bowls – one for each player

How to play

    1. Place all the worms in a bowl and add the whipped cream.
    1. Give each player a bowl with about 6 to 8 worms inside it
    1. With their hands behind their backs they must dig out all of the worms and put them on the plate

The first one to get all of the worms is the winner, and to make it harder try blindfolding the players.

Ghostbusters
The ghosts are the flames on candles and each player must blow out as many candles as possible with one breath. This is similar to blowing out the candles on a birthday cake, except you are marked for your efforts.

You will need

  • 10 candles in candle holders
  • Blindfold
  • List of 10 fortunes – these are written on cards and are presented to the player after they have blown out their candles.

How to play

    1. Light all the candles and spread them out, if children are playing put them closer together.
    1. Blindfold each contestant and then one at a time; tell them they have three breaths to bust as many ghosts as possible.
    1. The number of ghosts that they manage to bust will determine their future success.

Here is a list of fortunes that can be used for an adult party, adapt it for children and teenagers.

One ghost – You may suffer from respiratory problems
Two ghosts – You will fail to achieve your aspirations
Three ghosts – You lack inspiration in life
Four ghosts – The flames of passion will always burn in you
Five ghosts – Your dreams will burn bright
Six ghosts – Someone is burning with desire for you
Seven ghosts – Who knows which way the wind blows?
Eight ghosts – The winds will bring you good fortune
Nine ghosts – You are being blown closer to your destiny
Ten ghosts – The winds of fortune will blow you over.
